Respite "Care at home" scheme
Introduction
Respite care at home gives you the chance to have a break from caring. Respite care at home means some one coming into the home to look after the person you care for. This means that the person you care for does not have to move from the familiar surrounding of their home and can keep their routines. The care, support and supervision you normally provide will be carried out by the respite carer while you have a break.
This service is for carers who provide or intend to provide substantial and regular unpaid care to an adult who is ill, frail, living with a disability or mental illness. As a carer you may be looking after your partner, a relative, friend or neighbour. This would be either in your own home or elsewhere.
