Entry for the Green Business Awards 2011 is now closed. The awards was held along with the Green Champion Awards and Heartbeat Awards on the 22nd September 2011.
What is it?
The awards recognise businesses that do their bit to reduce their carbon footprint and help the environment.
Examples include setting up a recycling scheme, reducing energy use - such as changing to low voltage lighting - and encouraging staff to cycle to work or use public transport rather than driving.
Judges will be looking for particularly outstanding examples of commitment and innovation that have a real impact and may help influence other businesses in the future.
The competition categories include Carbon Reduction Achievement, Best Company/ Team and Green Beginners.
2011 winners
2011 winners Iqbal Latif and his team of hte Hotel Rafayel were presented with the Overall Business Trophy.
