The Building Control Service is currently moving offices, and during this period there may be delays before phone calls are answered. You will find it quicker to email your query to buildingcontrol@wandsworth.gov.uk - we will email or phone you back at the earliest opportunity.

The Customer Services Centre is unaffected by this move and will be open as normal.

We check building work in the borough to ensure reasonable standards of construction, as well as health and safety for people in and around buildings.

Construction standards and legislation

We are committed to providing a quality service to the public by means of a flexible and responsible approach within the framework of the Building Acts and Building Regulations. The legislation sets out acceptable standards of construction and we will ensure that these standards are met, by approving drawings and calculations as well as inspecting work in progress.

Building Control Performance Standards

We support the Building Control Performance Standards (2006) (Green Book) published by Communities and Local Government. We are committed to providing a level of service as laid down in that document to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations.
