Local Housing Allowance

In most cases we pay into your bank or building society account.

We will  pay benefit directly to your landlord if legislation requires us to, for example if you have rent arrears of over 8 weeks.

We may make payments to your landlord if:

• We consider that you are unable to manage your financial affairs or we consider you are unlikely to pay your rent or
• If making payments to your landlord will help you secure your home and retain your tenancy

You must tell us in writing if you want to us to consider making payments to your landlord and we will decide and let you and your landlord know in writing.
