How performance is reported

Performance against the Housing performance indicators and measures is reported in a number of ways.  During the year the Key Performance Indicators are reported to both the Borough Residents' Forum (BRF) and the Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HOSC) as part of a progress report. This usually happens four times in each financial year with an "end of year" report produced for the full year; this "end of year" report would also include the performance measures.

Performance is also reported in specific reports such as the Annual Resources and commitments report, the Housing chapter of the Corporate Business Plan and the Housing Department Business Plan.  Normally these end of year reports are presented to a June or July meeting of HOSC depending on the committee timetable.  The latest copies of the above reports can be found by clicking here

During the year performance information is also presented the the Housing Department Area Housing Panels.  These Panels consist of resident representatives of accredited residents' associations and the information presented is specific to the geographic area covered by the Area Housing Panel.

Each year an annual report to tenants is included in a special edition of Homelife, the Council's newsletter for Council residents.

Local performance measures

Council departments monitor a wide range of areas which are important to service delivery. These tend to be very specific to particular service areas.

Topline indicators

The Council has identified a set of "topline" indicators which it wishes to monitor and report against on a regular basis.  These indicators are usually ones which were formerly Best Value indicators or which the Council feels are particularly important in terms of delivery of service against other benchmarks.
