Recycling Collection Services
Orange sack service
Collecting your recycling
If you have your rubbish collected from outside your property in a normal dustbin or black sack please recycle using the orange sack service.
- Orange sacks are collected every week on your normal rubbish collection day.
- Please tie the sacks and leave them just inside your front garden, where they can be clearly seen by the collection crew.
- Collections start at 6.30am so please put sacks out the night before, or early enough on collection day.
- If you do not have a front garden, please leave your sacks on the pavement by your front door. Only do this after 6.30pm on the evening before your collection is due.
- Orange sacks cannot be collected from dustbins, alleyways or back gardens.
- Large bits of cardboard should be torn up before being included in the sacks. Or, place it in a bundle next to your orange recycling sacks.
- Find your collection day.
Orange sacks used for general rubbish will not be collected. Deliberate misuse of the sacks may result in a fine of up to £1000.
Getting more sacks
A roll of thirty orange sacks should be delivered to your door every three months.
Check what your next orange sack delivery date is. Please note that from 1st April 2012 we will deliver you three rolls of 30 sacks once a year.
If you don't receive your delivery, please email wasteservices@wandsworth.gov.uk.
If you need more sacks between deliveries, please collect them from your nearest library or waste services at the town hall. If you are unable to collect sacks, please email wasteservices@wandsworth.gov.uk or call 020 8871 7497 or to request an extra delivery.
If you have too many sacks, you can:
- Take them to your nearest library
- Give them to a friend or neighbour who has run out, or
- Leave them out for collection at the front of your property on your recycling collection day after each delivery.
