Equality in Wandsworth

The council's corporate objectives include a high level commitment to the delivery of high quality services which includes the promotion of equality of opportunity with services directed to need, available fairly and with equity, and targeted at reducing disadvantage. This corporate commitment supports the long-term vision for the borough, as set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy, Our Wandsworth 2018, to working with partners, suppliers and the local community to promote equality of opportunity and ensure a strong sense of community cohesion across the borough.

Equality information

In order to achieve our corporate commitment to equality we review who uses our services in order to identify any gaps, use national data to identify any trends or issues we need to be aware of and monitor our workforce profile. As this information is published across our website we have a page called Equality Information which acts as a guide to what information is available and where to find it. 

Equality objectives

We are currently developing a set of strategic equality objectives which we will publish in April 2012. These objectives will be published on this site on in February 2012 so that residents have an opportunity to review and feedback on them.
