Children and Young People's Plan

About the CYPP

Change for Children logo

Together with our partners we have worked to produce a new Children and Young People's Plan for 2008 - 2011. This builds on our first plan which covered the period 2006-2008.

Our new Children and Young Peoples Plan sets out a shared set of priorities and a vision for developing services for children and young people across the borough. The plan is based around actions to support the 5 'Every Child Matters' outcomes which are designed to ensure that children and young people are:

  • Safe from harm (STAY SAFE)
  • Healthy and have healthy lifestyles (BE HEALTHY)
  • Doing well at school and enjoying their leisure time  (ENJOY and ACHIEVE)
  • Contributing positively to society (MAKE a POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION)
  • Living in families with enough money to meet their needs, and have the skills to progress in their lives (ECONOMIC WELL-BEING)

Background information

The priorities in the plan have been shaped by the views of children and young people themselves as well as parents, carers and families from across the borough. The plan also reflects the important issues identified by our schools, health services, police and other partners. By looking carefully at data and listening to a wide range of views, we have been able to develop a number of actions and priorities we hope will have a positive impact on children and young people in Wandsworth.

A copy of the full plan, summary version and children and young peoples version are available in the related downloads area. We will be monitoring our performance against targets regularly to make sure we are on track, and we'll review and update the plan annually to make sure it stays relevant.
