Mayor of Wandsworth
The mayor of Wandsworth for 2011/12 is West Putney councillor Jane Cooper
Cllr Cooper was born and bred in Yorkshire, but has lived in Wandsworth for more than 30 years. She is a former civil servant who was first elected to serve as a councillor in West Putney in 2002.
She has served on a number of town hall committees, including Planning and Transportation, of which she was chairman for three years. At the same time she served as chairman of the Passenger Transport Liaison Committee, which ensured that Transport for London, London Buses and Network Rail worked effectively with the council to improve local transport services.
More recently she has been chairman of the Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee and has been Wandsworth's representative on the London Councils' Housing Forum.
In 2009 she served as deputy mayor of the borough and combines her municipal duties with being a school governor and a justice of the peace.

Councillor Alexander Raubitschek is the Deputy Mayor.
Alex has lived in Wandsworth for over ten years where he continues to enjoy raising his family. Both his children go to school in the area, and his wife is a l
ocal science teacher. Alex is an Applied Chemistry Graduate who moved into business in 1992.
He has been involved in investing in start-up businesses across Asia and the Middle East, and is now currently working in Executive Search and Interim Management.
Since becoming elected and representing Queenstown Ward he has sat on town hall committees including Strategic Planning & Transport, Audit and is currently Deputy Chair of General Purposes committee. He is a Trustee of the Wand Youth Club and has been a Wandsworth school governor at Chesterton Primary School for over 6 years.
