Adventure playgrounds
Adventure playgrounds are places where children and young people can play freely, meet new friends and have fun while being supervised. They offer both indoor and outdoor spaces where children can express themselves creatively and test themselves physically.
By exploring the natural materials that make up the world, (such as earth, water, fire, wood, plants and animals) children can learn about and influence their environment.
Wandsworth has three Adventure Playgrounds managed by the Play & Extended Services Section:
All three adventure playgrounds are free, open access play settings for children and young people between 5 and 16 years of age. They all offer a range of indoor activities such as computer suits, pool, table tennis, arts and crafts as well as outside adventurous play with different features, for example Kimber Road has a BMX track and Skate park. The Adventure Playgrounds are consistently being developed and changed in line with children's ideas and suggestions.
For a child to stay on site without an adult they will need to be registered. To register please complete a registration form at the Adventure Playground on your first visit or download the registration form and privacy notice from this page and take it along with you.
Throughout the year adventure playgrounds offer a range of events and programmes from workshops to competitions. The latest term time and holiday programmes and activities can be found on the Wandsworth Family Information Service website www.wandsworth.gov.uk/fis.
Groups visiting with children are welcome but to avoid disappointment please ensure you ring the playground of your choice, in advance, to book in your group and to discuss your needs with the centre manager.
All three adventure playgrounds are available for private hire outside of opening times, please contact the playground directly to discuss availability and costs.
