Play strategy
About the strategy
Can you remember climbing
trees, building a tent out of sticks and old blankets, playing two balls or
hopscotch in the street, having adventures in derelict places, hanging out with
friends, making mud pies, running, skipping, hopping, jumping, dressing up in
your mum's clothes, pretending to be a pirate or princess, skimming stones in
water, dancing, playing tag or hide and seek, making a sledge and playing fetch
with the dog?
The experience of play is unforgettable for many of us!
Wandsworth's Play Strategy aims to set out for children, young people and their parents and the local community, our vision and principles relating to free play, that is play that is free for the child to choose, free of charge and enables children and young people to come and go freely. The Strategy also sets out the objectives and proposed development priorities, based on an audit of existing need and public consultation.
The Strategy is a three year plan (2007-2010) developed by the Play Partnership chaired by our Play Strategy Development Officer, Play Services Section.
