Wandsworth Parent Partnership Service (PPS) is an impartial, confidential, information and support service for any parent/carer who has a child with special educational needs (SEN).
The service is available to parents/carers who live in the borough of Wandsworth.
The PPS is funded by Wandsworth Council and is part of the Children's Services Department but gives confidential, neutral and objective information and support on education matters to parents of children with SEN.
Our services
We can:- Tell you how schools or the local authority (LA) should meet your child's special educational needs
- Tell you about your rights and responsibilities
- Explain the statutory assessment process and help you write your parent report form or go through the proposed statement with you
- Tell you about your rights and what to expect from your child's school and the LA if your child has been excluded fro their school
- Help you give your views to your child's school or the LA at meetings or in letters
- Tell you about mainstream and special schools
- Help if you do not agree with the LA's decision about your child's SEN or school
- Link you to a trained volunteer Independent Parent Advisor (IPA) if you need support with your child's statutory assessment or you would like to visit a school

Tell you about other services that can help you.
We are unable to:
- Make decisions for you
- Tell you what we think you should do
- Attend meetings for you if you are not there
- Write reports for you if you are not there.
Our volunteer Independent Parental supporters
We can link parents to one of our Independent Parental Supporters (IPSs). IPSs are trained volunteers who give their time to support parents of children with SEN.
An IPS can:
- Help you with paperwork during the statutory assessment process
- Explain how schools should help children who have SEN
- Help you to write your views for your child's statutory assessment
- Help you to make sure that your child's views are heard
- Support you at meetings with school or the Local Authority
