Health scrutiny

Speaking up for local people on health

We have a key role in monitoring the performance of the NHS in Wandsworth. This task is carried out by our health overview and scrutiny committee.

We have been actively championing the interests of local people in health matters for ten years. We first set up a health committee in 1994, when proposals were brought forward to downgrade Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.

Although the campaign to save the hospital was ultimately unsuccessful, our voice became a vital influence on the plans for the new community hospital which is now under construction.
