Wandsworth Green Business Awards 2008
The 2008 Wandsworth Green Business Awards, open to all businesses in Wandsworth, launched on 1st July and culminated in an awards ceremony held on Monday 17th November during the Wandsworth Business Forum at The Clapham Grand, St John's Hill, Clapham Junction (Battersea).   More details of Wandsworth Business Forums, which are open to all Wandsworth businesses, can be found on the Business Support page, including details of how to book your free place at these regular events.

This year's Wandsworth Green Business Awards, assessed Committment, Innovation and Impact and Influence. This year, alongside the Council, the panel of judges consisted of representatives from Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, Liberata and the Go Green Project (managed by South London Biz).

The overall winner, Wandsworth's Green Business Champion 2008, is Lamberts Restaurant of Station Parade, Balham whose entry listed plenty of good green achievements, such as: the regular recycling of paper, tin cans, foils, some plastics, glass and cardboard; conversion of cooking oil into bio-fuel and serving unlimited filtered tap water to customers.  The British menu means Lamberts are able to source local and sustainable produce of an extremely high quality.  Their environmental philosopy is passed on to all staff and allows customers to make an informed choice about where they dine.
