Q: How is a planning application determined?

Answer:

Planning applications are assessed on their merits and determined in accordance with the Central government policies The London Plan  The Wandsworth Unitary Development Plan, and as it progresses the Councils Local Development Framework. These set out policies to which an application should accord. Comments from local residents will be taken into consideration, together with Comments from other consultees. The material consideration that may be taken into account, include matters like the effect on traffic or parking, the appearance of the proposal, overlooking or disturbance, loss of light or privacy, impact on the local environment and whether the proposed use is suitable.
