Q: What can I borrow and for how long?

Q: How do I join the library?

Answer:

Library membership is free to everyone and you can join online or at any Wandsworth library.  Just complete a membership form and show identification confirming your name current address and your signature.

Some of the ID documents that can be used:

  • Your driving licence
  • Your council tax payment form
  • Your rent book
  • Your medical card
  • A recent bill with your address from a utility provider such as a telephone or gas company

If you are under 16 you need permission and a signature from your parent or guardian for the membership form.

To borrow books or search the internet is free. There are charges for overdue items, reserving books, hire of audio visual items and for other services, such as photocopying or sending a fax. Read Fees and Charges.

Data Protection information

Wandsworth's Library and Heritage Service is a member of the London Libraries Consortium and shares a library computer management system with other London authorities.  Although staff from member authorities are able to view your personal data, it is not accessible by library members. 

Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998, access and use of this data is strictly controlled and restricted to library service delivery only.
