Q: Why has trade waste time banding been brought in when I have never heard of an issue with regard to fly-tipping in the shopping area?

Q: Which businesses were consulted about the time bands and what times to use?

Q: I have just bought 150 refuse bags from my supplier and they say they cannot collect during the time banding. What should I do?

Q: My waste collection firm uses black bags and have said they are not aware of the bag colour changes and will not issue me other bags. What can I do?

Q: My shop is on the red route. How can my waste collections take place during the allocated time bands?

Answer:

The red-route restrictions have not changed and you should discuss with your waste carrier how and when they can provide you with a service. It may be that, as for deliveries, collections will need to be made directly from within your premises through a designated loading bay as there is no general right to leave your rubbish on the street for collection.

Q: The 9am to 11am trade waste time band means the pavements will be restricted at a busy time with rubbish from dozens of shops. Why is this?

Q: My premises shut at 10 pm. If I leave my rubbish out between 9pm and 11pm, and it is not collected, how can I be held responsible and face a fine?

Q: My premises close at 6pm and my rubbish collections have been overnight. How do these trade waste time bandings help me?

Q: I have some private land outside my shop and have an A-sign which the council says I can have as it's my land. Are there any problems with me putting my rubbish bags there for collection?

Q: Where can I get more information about the trade waste time band scheme and its implementation?
