Q: Why has trade waste time banding been brought in when I have never heard of an issue with regard to fly-tipping in the shopping area?

Answer:

We have consulted with the nine registered waste carriers who we know work in the borough. If your carrier is not on the list, we will contact them.

There is no general right to use the pavement to store rubbish. To facilitate collections, the time bands allow a short period when refuse in sacks or small bins can be put on the footway by your street entrance. If you or your carrier wants collections at other times, then they must be directly from within your premises. You should be able to find a carrier who will collect at times and places within the regulations and convenient for you.

Q: My waste collection firm uses black bags and have said they are not aware of the bag colour changes and will not issue me other bags. What can I do?
