James Capper's walking boat MUDSKIPPER on the Thames

An old Thames boat which is now a walking sculpture will be performing on the Thames in May and June.

MUDSKIPPER is a fully-mobile sculpture which has the ability to move across water and land on-shore through the use of two step-type propulsion legs.

It will be in residency at Battersea Power Station Pier directly in front of the iconic riverside building from its launch in May until Sunday 16 June.

The walk will make special performances throughout May and June, when it travels down the River Thames and walks out of the water at certain points of low tide.

Note: The performance on Thursday 16 May on Thames path at Battersea Park, SW11 3NJ has been cancelled.

  • Saturday 25 May, 11.45am - Thames path by Chelsea Bridge car park, Battersea Park, SW11 3NJ
  • Thursday 30 May, 5pm - Public launch at Thames path by Chelsea Bridge car park, Battersea Park, SW11 3NJ

Albion Barn acquired the original workboat with James Capper and published the MUDSKIPPER maquette.
