The Shimmy

The Shimmy is an outdoor festival like no other - named because it shimmies between the variances of what outdoor artcan be, including street art, dance, workshops, installation and interaction.
Shimmying through the nooks and crannies of this riverside stretch are a series of arts encounters like you've never had before.
Hear the underwater sounds of the Thames performed along the avenue of trees in Wandsworth Park, try not to start a food-fight at the crazy picnic in the park, take cover with stories and tiffin, listen in on other people's car conversations on Deodar Road, watch stunning dance performances at Putney Wharf and have a go yourself with the Dance Spinner at Church Square.

Young Meets Old workshops at Sprout Arts

Using storytelling, games and visual art techniques, the workshops on the 'Young Meets Old' theme will draw families closer together through sharing values and ideas.
The workshops will be led by artist Ken McCalla and storyteller/poet Eli Anderson and are suitable for accompanied children aged 6-13 years.

The Common Gaze by Lee Borthwick

Green Horses on the Wall

Heritage Festival: The Good Neighbour

Honouring heroic Battersea residents with a series of events to celebrate our community.
Have you heard of George Neighbour? He saved two women from the fire at Arding & Hobbs in 1909. To honour him and other heroic Battersea residents (including you!), BAC are holding a series of events to celebrate our community, culminating in a show, The Good Neighbour, in October 2012.
On our open days we invite you to take a tour of the building designed by E.W. Mountford (also the architect of Battersea Library) and enjoy short talks, music and film about people and activities associated with the building since 1893.If you can't make this date, a further open day will be held on Saturday 2 June, 11am-8pm.
