Battersea Dogs and Cats Home 16th Annual Reunion

This year Battersea will be marking its 150th anniversary with an extra-exciting Annual Reunion in Battersea Park. As well as the usual stalls, doggy games, displays and fancy dress competitions there

This year we have Britain's Got Talent semi finalist Jackie and Tippy Toes doing their wonderful heelwork to music as well as fancy dress competition, funfair, celebrity judge, fun displays, dog games, refreshments, agility displays, Microchipping, pet tag engraving, Trade stands which include Absolutely Animals, Pet London, My Itchy Dog, Barker and Walker Ltd, Useful Magnets and Emily Kapff animal portrait painter as well as many others.
There are lots of special
activities being planned to help us celebrate this momentous year all rounded
off at the end of the day with the 150th celebration cake cutting.

Summer Reading Challenge: Space Hop

One giant leap into libraries! This years challenge is to read up to six books over the summer break, tell staff what you thought of the book to collect rewards.
Encourage your children to enjoy reading during the summer holidays, and help them return to school with their imaginations fired!
The UK's biggest reading initiative for children blasts off for summer 2010 with a fabulous new space theme.
Children pick up a Space Hop membership card and poster from the library and collect stickers and incentives as they read. There are further activities at the libraries and a fun website at www.spacehop.org.uk. Children receive a medal and certificate for reading 6 books. See also www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk
- Space Hop is for children aged 4-12.
- Children under four can take part in the special Space Hop Baby Book Crawl
- children aged 11 and over can take part in the Reading Challenge Plus.
