James Capper: Walking Ship at Studio RCA

Get an advance preview of the walking Thames boat which will be launched in Nine Elms in the spring.

British artist James Capper will exhibit large drawings of his walking boat sculpture, Mudskipper, ahead of its arrival in Nine Elms later this year.

Capper has transformed a former 1980s commercial fishing boat into a mobile structure that can move across water and land onshore using two legs.

The exhibition will be open every Saturday and Sunday until 21 April 2019, plus Easter Monday (22 April).

Screening of Fahrenheit 451

This 1966 film by Francois Truffaut features the newly-built Alton Estate and predicts a scary digital age.

The screening is being held by the Putney Society with the support of Ibstock Place School. In will be in the school's theatre - entrance from Danebury Avenue.

World Day of Prayer service

All are welcome to this service prepared by the women of Slovinia.

The World Day of Prayer worship service has a special annual theme which is developed by women of a different country each year. A national committee then prepares an order of service on that theme. This year, the theme is Come - Everything is Ready.

There will be two services: 

  • 11am at St. Margaret's, Putney Park Lane, SW15 5HU
  • 8pm at Minstead Garden Methodist Church, Clare Place (off Danebury Avenue)  SW15 4EB

Refreshments will be provided afterwards
