Balham Literary Festival

Balham Literary Festival

The second annual Balham Literary Festival will take place at the Bedford Pub in Balham, with the theme ‘Happy, Healthy, Home?’

It will explore health, mental and physical, therapy, exercise, parenting; examining what makes for happiness, ease and disease. What is the concept of home in the 21st century; migration, exile, refugees, nomads and settlers?

Festival highlights will include Henry Marsh CBE (notable neurosurgeon and author of Do No Harm) and Thomasina Miers (cook, journalist, author, and founder of Wahaca).

You can also learn how to create one’s own habitat with cookery and gardening. Authors will include experts in these areas as well as travel writers, enthusiasts, novelists, poets, narrative non-fiction writers. And there’ll also be fun events for children.
