Free cycle hire for children with disabilities

Overview

Wandsworth Council and London Recumbent Cycles are giving families with disabled children a fun and unique way to enjoy Battersea Park by providing free hire of a range of modified bikes, tricycles, tandems and recumbent cycles.

Disabled children or young people aged under 18 can have one hour's free cycle hire on weekends and throughout the summer holidays. They are also able to have an extra one hour's free hire for a parent or sibling who is joining them on a ride through the park.

When?      

Weekends and school holidays 10am - 4pm

Eligibility    

Any child or young person aged under 18 who has one of the following:

  • A Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or
  • A letter confirming they receive Disability Living Allowance or
  • A letter from a Doctor or Medical Practitioner confirming they have a disability
  • Please note: copies of letters will be required.

Once registered, participants are eligible for one hour of free cycle hire for upto two people. Limited to one hire per registered person, per day.

Return form along with copy of DLA Letter or Doctor's letter via one of the following:
