Methods of payment
To link your Council Tax account, you must confirm your identity by telling us how you made your last payment.
Problems linking your account?
If you paid in the last 48 hours, this might not show on your account yet - allow 48 hours after making a payment before linking your account.
If you paid more than 48 hours ago, check you have chosen the correct method of last payment:
|Method of payment||What this means|
Your last Council Tax payment was paid through a PayPoint outlet e.g. newsagent, local supermarket.
You can pay your Council Tax in cash when you see the PayPoint sign below, this can be wherever you are in the country.
Your last Council Tax payment was paid through the Post Office.
You can pay your Council Tax at any post office where you see the sign below. You can pay in cash, by cheque or by debit card.
|Payment made direct to Wandsworth Council via the Council's online or telephone payment system|| Your last Council Tax payment was successfully paid using a debit or credit card (1.4% fee for credit cards) by either calling Wandsworth Council's 24/7 automated payment line 0800 021 7763, or using Wandsworth Council’s web site.
|Using a bank - Internet banking, standing order or in person at the bank|| Your last Council Tax payment was paid via your own bank using any of the following:
|Direct Debit - Successfully taken from bank account||
Your last Council Tax payment was successfully paid by direct debit, either monthly (5 different date options 4th, 11th 15th 18th or 25th), half yearly or annually.
**Please check the payment has been successfully taken out of your bank account before selecting this option**
|Cash at council kiosk|| Your last Council Tax payment was made using the 'kiosk' when you visited Wandsworth Council’s Combined Reception & Customer Centre.
|Cheque sent to council|| Your last Council Tax payment was a cheque that you sent to the Council and it has been cashed and debited from your bank account.
|Enforcement agent (baliff)||Your last Council Tax payment was to an Enforcement Agent (bailiff). In this case, you must wait 2 weeks from the date of the payment before linking your Council Tax account as it could take this time for the money to be successfully allocated. |Deduction from salary||Your last Council Tax payment was via a deduction directly from your salary.
Recovery action has been taken against you at a Magistrates’ court and the Council Tax Service has successfully applied to your employer to make deductions from your salary to repay Council Tax owed.
|Deduction from state benefit|| Your last Council Tax payment was via a deduction directly from your:
|Credit transferred from another account||You moved from one address in the borough of Wandsworth to another address in the borough and you are aware that a credit on your old Council Tax account at your old address was transferred to your new account at your new address AND you have not made a further payment since your move. Email: email@example.com for help.|
|No payment as recently moved (within 6 months)|| You have moved into an address in the borough of Wandsworth in the last 6 months (your previous address was either inside or outside of the borough) and you have not paid any Council Tax since moving in.
|No payment made due to being exempt||You have not paid any Council Tax in the last 12 months because you have a valid exemption from doing so, which is showing on your bill.

|No payments made due to another reason not list (within 12 months)||You have not paid any Council Tax in the last 12 months because of another reason not listed above, which could include:
