Clairview Road/Furzedown area - Parking consultation
We are asking residents and businesses in the Clairview Road/Furzedown area about parking conditions in their road and whether they would like to see a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) introduced.
Background
We have listened to local concerns, including a petition, from residents of Clairview Road about parking difficulties caused by commuter and long-stay non-resident parking, and would like to hear your views.
ConsultationĀ
We are now considering whether a CPZ should be introduced in the area to prioritise parking for residents, their visitors and essential business vehicles.

The consultation opens on Friday 16 January 2026 and closes on Sunday 1 March 2026.

What happens next
The results will be analysed for the whole area and on a street-by-street basis meaning that a CPZ could be introduced throughout the whole area if widely supported. Or they could be made in some highway roads and not others, if appropriate.
The final decision will not be based on the views of residents and businesses alone. All feedback will be considered along with relevant traffic management and other highway factors, before a decision is made on the way forward. We will write to residents once the Council has made a decision, and an update will be provided here.
