What else can I recycle?

Sometimes you want to recycle other items. Here's how.

Recycling collections are provided for waste items you might typically produce on a day-to-day basis at home - like packaging from food, drink and cleaning products.

Margarine tubs, jam jars, bleach bottles, deodorant spray-cans and juice cartons can all be recycled using orange sacks or orange-lidded banks.

But what if you have old clothes, a broken laptop, or furniture you don't use any more? There are other ways to reuse or recycle other items.

A public recycling site at Iron Mill Place in Wandsworth

  • Clothing
    1. Textile banks
    2. Charity shops
    3. Costume for school play
  • Broken laptop*
    1. Sell for parts (online or local paper)
    2. Give away for parts or repair (community exchange website)
    3. Drop off at the recycling centre (in the electronics bay)
  • Furniture
    1. Donate to a charity shop
    2. Book a re-use collection
    3. Give away for free (eg via Freecycle)
