Free tours of the local recycling sorting plant

When: Saturday 17th November (tours start at 9.30am, 11am and 12.30pm) Where: Western Riverside Waste Transfer Station, Smugglers Way, Wandsworth in Smugglers Way, Wandsworth

Want to find out what happens to your rubbish and recycling?  Come and see how your mixed recycling is sorted and baled before being made into new products!

The Western Riverside Waste Authority is offering free tours on a Saturday for the first time so that local residents and families who find it difficult to come in the evening have chance to see the site and view the sorting process in action.

The tours will be open to residents including children aged 5 or over. However, please note that children will not be able to go inside the sorting plant itself, but there will be recycling related craft activities for children while parents have a good look inside.

To book your place on a tour, please email education@wrwa.gov.uk or call 020 8875 8885.
