Open Garden Squares Weekend

When? Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June. Where? Across London including 11 different gardens in the borough of Wandsworth.

Across London interesting and unusual gardens which aren't normally open to the public are unlocking their doors for this year's Open Garden Squares Weekend.

Amongst the new gardens this year is a trio of community gardens - Bramford Community Garden,  Wendelsworth Community Garden & Orchard and Paradise Co-op Urban Farm - which bring local people together around wildlife-friendly gardening. Find out more about growing fruit & veg, composting and other organic practices and hear how the gardens mix fun with education; for example check out Paradise Co-op's new outdoor pizza oven, just one of the range of activities which aim to connect children with nature and develop their imagination and confidence.

Other newcomers this year are two schools: Linden Lodge for children with a visual impairment - if you're sighted, try being guided through the garden wearing a blindfold - and Sellincourt Primary School - find out how art and poetry meet gardening to help children's learning.
