The Living Wandle Landscape Partnership Scheme is a Heritage Lottery Funded (HLF) Project, which aims to deliver a series of improvement projects along the whole length of the River Wandle. The over-arching aim of this scheme is to re-vitalise the Wandle as an identifiable, high quality asset to the communities of south London, through engagement with the natural and built heritage of the river. The river should provide a healthy, multi-functional landscape with opportunities to involve local people in a range of projects and activities which celebrate the heritage, culture, landscape and biodiversity of the river. The project seeks to establish the Wandle as a defining landscape signature to this part of London and provides opportunities for local people and visitors to explore the river. It is supported by a £2m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
