Funding available from RE:LEAF Community Grant Scheme

Get funding for community-led tree planting projects...

The RE:LEAF Community Grant Scheme supports projects that promote or protect trees and woodlands and engage local communities. Rounds one and two of this scheme supported projects across 16 London boroughs involving 2,750 volunteers helping to plant 4,000 trees.

The scheme's aims include helping to foster community and individual well-being and social inclusion through contact with trees and woodlands; as well as building capacity for community-led tree and woodland projects.

This scheme is open to organisations/groups in Wandsworth and across London able to represent the wider community.  Organisations that can apply include, but are not limited to:

Woodland owners and managers;

Community groups/Resident’s Associations/Friends of groups;

Charities and Trusts

Registered Social Landlords;

Among the projects funded in previous rounds were initiatives to plant trees in disused spaces on housing estates, funding for woodland activities for children and improving woodland accessibility and management. Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available through this scheme. Find out more here.

The deadline for applications is Friday 29 August 2014, for planting and activities over the winter of 2014/15.
