River Wandle volunteer clean-up

When: 11am-3pm, Sunday, 10th November Where: Ravensbury Terrace, Earlsfield =, SW18 4HS Organised by: The Wandle Trust

The actual location is just off Ravensbury Terrace, in the Haslemere Industrial Estate.  Please click here to see where to meet.

There is parking, a fence to which you can chain bicycles, and it's about a 5 minute walk from Garratt Lane where the 44 and 270 buses travel up and down, and from Earlsfield overground station.

What to expect

Please arrive in time for the Health and Safety briefing at 11am.  If you arrive later than that, don't worry, you'll be asked to read the briefing and sign in to confirm your understanding of the guidelines, and agreement to adhere to them.

The clean-up will continue until 3pm with a break at about 1pm for tea, coffee and cake provided by the Wandle Trust, but you may like to bring your own picnic lunch.

As ever, Wandsworth Council will arrange for any litter and fly-tips collected to be taken away.

What to wear/ What to bring

The Wandle Trust will provide a number of pairs of safety chest waders for volunteers to use but they tend to be slightly large sizes!  Please bring a pair of socks if you want to borrow a pair.  Other than that, please wear walking/working type boots or your own Wellingtons as these provide good foot protection.

The Wandle Trust will also provide gloves and other pieces of equipment including litter pickers.  Please wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty and layers as the weather may be changeable!  It's always worth bringing a change of clothes too, particularly socks, just in case your waders spring a leak.
