Community groups and local businsses are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £500 and special litter picking clean-up kits to bring volunteers together in rubbish clearing events to create cleaner, greener and safer local environments.  The grants and kits are available to constituted community groups, schools, SMEs and charities who want to organise a clean-up this autumn.  Community groups that are not constituted can apply for the kits but not the grants.  Apply for a grant or kit.

This forms part of Team London, the Mayor of London's volunteering initiative.  The deadline for applications is 16th September.

The Council's contractors keep local public highways and Council managed parks and housing estates clean but there are other public areas such as the Thames tidal foreshore and back alleys that can really benefit from the efforts of volunteers.  Any volunteer clean-ups that may require clearance of any litter and recycling they may collect are encouraged to contact Waste Services in advance.  Further information about how you can help us to keep Wandsworth clean.
