What is adoption?

Many people decide that adopting a child or children is the best way of embarking upon a new rewarding life as a family.

Their reasons are varied, but all adopters have one thing in common - to provide a loving, stable and stimulating home environment where children can thrive, develop strong relationships and become happy and well adjusted adults.

At Wandsworth we are looking for all sorts of people from different backgrounds and in particular people of black or mixed heritage, who are interested in adopting a child as we have a number of children from these backgrounds and of all ages, who are looking for 'forever families'.

After having browsed our website, you can talk to social workers about the support we provide, and this will help you to decide if you should go forward into an adoption assessment.
