Voting by post or proxy
Anyone who is registered to vote can apply to vote by post, you do not have to give a reason and you can apply at any time.
If you apply to vote in this way it means that your ballot paper will be posted to you before the election. You have up to 11 working days before any election to apply to vote in this way.
There is also a facility to vote by proxy when someone that you nominate votes for you. However, you will have to give a reason as to why you cannot go to the polling station in person. You have up to 6 working days before any election to apply to vote in this way, however, if you wish your proxy to vote by post you only have up to 11 working days to apply
