Social services - vulnerable adults - protection
Older people and people with a physical or mental disability are vulnerable to abuse, which could be physical, sexual or financial.
If abuse is suspected, or has occurred, we will ensure that action is taken to safeguard the vulnerable adult in the future. If it appears that a criminal offence has taken place, the police may be informed.
If suspected abuse is carried out in a care home, the unit registering the home will carry out a joint investigation with social workers.
If you suspect somebody is being abused, please report it straight away.
