Housing - Major works
From time to time the council has to carry out major works to blocks or estates to keep them in a good state of repair. Major works are normally large projects designed to prolong the life of the council's housing stock. These include schemes such as external decorations, roof, window and lift renewals. Major works can take some time to complete. You contribute towards the cost of any major works by paying rent or service charges.
