Skip permits

Builders' skips require a permit if they are to be placed on the highway. This is a requirement of the Highways Act 1980.

We may specify conditions relating to the position of highway skips. Generally the company that places a skip will arrange for the licence; initial applications must be submitted a minimum of five clear working days before the licence is due to commence.

It is advisable to check with the skip hire company that they will arrange and pay for the permit as part of their service.
