Southfields S2 CPZ review

We are asking residents and businesses in the Southfields S2 sub-zone whether they feel any changes should be made to the operation of this zone.

Background

We have listened to local concerns, including a petition, from residents of the north-western part of the Southfields S2 sub-zone. Residents have told us about difficulties parking in the zone outside the 1 hour of controls (1.30pm to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday).

Those in the roads closest to Southfields Village have reported that parking is difficult outside the controlled hour, with shoppers, employees and commuters all trying to park as close to central Southfields as possible.

Consultation

We are now asking for your views about possible changes to the operational hour/days of the S2 zone. For example, are you happy with the existing parking controls or would you wish to see them extended so that they operate later into the evening and/or at weekends?

The consultation opens on Friday 16 January 2026 and closes on Sunday 1 March 2026.

What happens next

The results will be analysed for the whole area and on a street-by-street basis meaning that changes could be made throughout the whole area if widely supported. Or they could be made in some highway roads and not others, if appropriate.

The final decision will not be based on the views of residents and businesses alone. All feedback will be considered along with relevant traffic management and other highway factors, before a decision is made on the way forward. We will write to residents once the Council has made a decision, and an update will be provided here.
