About us

Pump House Gallery is a public contemporary arts space with a national and increasingly international profile.  It is distinguished by its unique four-storey Victorian building and idyllic location, beside the lake in Battersea Park.

Our programme integrates exhibitions of work by emerging and more established contemporary artists, touring exhibitions and projects created locally through educational initiatives.  We currently organise six exhibitions a year, planned up to two years in advance, often working in close collaboration with artists to commission new works.

The gallery has over 25,000 visitors a year and offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all.  The only public art gallery in the borough, Pump House Gallery is part of Wandsworth Borough Council and has received funding for exhibitions and projects from a number of different sources.  In addition to our visual arts programme, Pump House Gallery offers a beautiful setting for small private hire events.

Pump House Gallery is part of the Own Art loan scheme, designed to make it easy and affordable to buy original, high quality contemporary art. You can borrow up to £2000 or as little as £100, to be paid back in equal installments over a period of 10 months - interest free (typical 0% APR). Find out more at www.artscouncil.org.uk/ownart
