There are three street markets in Wandsworth; these are located at Hildreth Street, Balham, SW12; Battersea High Street, SW11 and Northcote Road, Battersea, SW11.

In addition to the main sites there are other 'scattered sites' close to the main shopping areas in the borough.

We also help to organise extra events in the borough including the popular continental markets that visit town centres in Wandsworth.

The street trading team are also responsible for issuing licenses for traders operating in the borough.

Extra events

In conjunction with Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, a programme of weekend events is in place, including a series of Farmers Markets. These events are widely publicised and bring many new faces to the area.

There are three Farmers Markets selling a range of fresh produce including meat, cheese, bread, vegetables, fruit, home made cakes, pies and pastries and more.  Trader at French market (2001)

The Farmers Markets are at:

Hildreth Street, Sunday 10am-3pm

Old York Road, Saturday 9am-2pm

Battersea High Street, Sunday 9am-2pm

Feedback from local residents, visiting market traders and local businesses is very good and everyone has benefited from these successful events. New shoppers and visitors enjoyed the lively atmosphere of this cosmopolitan area.

In the future we want to organise similar events throughout the borough, in partnership with other local groups.
