Unitary Development Plan - history of the review process In June 1999 the Council approved a draft revised UDP, which was placed "on deposit" in November and December 1999. Over 1200 objections were made by 110 different objectors, and these comprised 962 objections and 265 representations of support. A full A full list of objections is available here (pdf). A report on representations received was considered by the Planning Committee on 19 October 2000 and proposed changes to the plan were approved. A summary of all representations and responses is available here. The proposed changes were combined with the earlier deposit draft and a Draft Revised UDP, as approved October 2000 for Second Stage Deposit was published. The proposed changes were placed "on deposit" from November 24th 2000 to 12th January 2001. Forty two representations were received from sixteen different groups, organisations and individuals. A report on the responses to the second stage deposit changes together with a summary of all representations and responses was approved by Planning Committee on 19th April 2001.Around one hundred objections have been withdrawn. No further changes were made to the Plan before the start of the Public Inquiry. The public inquiry opened on 19th June and the hearing of evidence ended on 2nd August 2001, and was formally closed on 29th August 2001. The Inspector's Report on all objections heard at the inquiry as well as those submitted in writing was published in May 2002. The Council considered and responded to the Inspector's recommendations and published proposed modifications and a response to the Inspector's recommendations. The proposed modifications were placed on deposit for public consideration until 29th March 2003. The Council then considered its response to objections made to the proposed modifications while on deposit and adopted the Plan in August 2003.
