SCI - the Statement of Community Involvement The Council has adopted a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), which sets out policy for involving the community in the preparation, alteration and review of planning policy documents and in deciding planning applications. Following extensive consultations on an earlier draft a "submission version" was sent to the Planning Inspectorate for examination by a government Inspector. The purpose of the independent examination was to determine if the SCI was "sound". The Inspector considered that, subject to a few minor changes and updating, the SCI was sound and could be adopted. This the Council has now done.
