Building control
We check building work in the borough to ensure reasonable standards of construction, as well as health and safety for people in and around buildings. We are committed to providing a quality service to the public by means of a flexible and responsible approach within the framework of the Building Acts and Building Regulations. The legislation sets out acceptable standards of construction and we will ensure that these standards are met, by approving drawings and calculations as well as inspecting work in progress.

We support the Building Control Performance Standards (2006) (Green Book) published by the Department for Communities and Local Government. We are committed to providing a level of service as laid down in that document to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations. Please refer to the Planning Portal for the online version of the document.
