Proposals to formalise parking arrangements (including allowing some footway parking) in the Dover House and Ashburton Estates

On 14th June 2005, the Regeneration and Transport Overview and Scrutiny Committee supported (Paper 05-452) revised proposals to formalise footway parking arrangements in the Dover House and Ashburton Estates, following a consultation with residents and businesses. These proposals were approved by the Executive on 11th July.

The Council receives a lot of written correspondence and telephone calls from residents, either complaining about vehicles parking obstructively or because they have been issued with a PCN for doing so themselves. The proposals detailed in this report seek to remove any confusion regarding the Council's position on footway parking by installing markings to advise drivers where it is safe and appropriate to park on the footway.
