Are you applying for the right permit?

You must display the correct parking permit at all times, or risk being fined and/or clamped or removed.

Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs)
CPZs apply on the public highway and only allow CPZ permit holders to park within the CPZ. Permits like those shown below are issued by the Technical Services Department, based on the 5th Floor of the Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18, and allow residents, visitors, tradesmen and businesses to park in CPZ bays on the public highway.

CPZ permits are only valid in bays where signs like the one shown are displayed.

Housing Estates Residents Parking Regulation Schemes
Some housing estates have their own parking regulation schemes (PRS). Residents or visitors wishing to park on an estate must display valid resident's or visitor's parking permits (as shown below).

Housing parking permits

Permits are only valid on the estate for which they are issued. They can only be used in designated areas on an estate where you see the sign below, and they do not apply in areas that form part of the public highway.

The Housing Department issue residents' permits free of charge (where appropriate).

Remember

  • Housing estate permits are only valid in approved areas that form part of your estate. They cannot be used to park anywhere else in the borough.
  • CPZ Resident Permits do not allow the holder to park in an estate where a parking regulation scheme operates and can only be used in parking bays within the CPZ for which the permit was issued.
  • If you live on a housing estate within a CPZ, you may be eligible for both types of permit, but you must ensure that the correct permit is displayed when you park in either area.
