
Business Parking Permits
Entitlement to a permit A business is entitled to one or more permits if:
- It is operating from an address within a controlled parking zone.
AND
- The vehicle for which the permit is required is essential for the efficient operation of the business.
N.B. A business may purchase up to three liveried vehicle permits.
The vehicle must be either:
- a passenger vehicle constructed or modified for the carriage of not more than twelve passengers (excluding the driver)
OR
- a goods carrying vehicle, the overall height of which does not exceed 3.2 metres (10ft 6ins) and the overall length does not exceed 6.5 metres (21ft 4ins) with a maximum gross weight not exceeding 5 tonnes.
Proof of business address and vehicle ownership/lease must be provided together with evidence that the vehicle is essential for the efficient running of the business before your application can be approved.

Application Permits can be applied for by post or in person. If applying by post, please include your payment by company cheque, postal order or credit card (payment must be made directly by the business/employer) and send with the supporting documentation to:

If applying in person, please bring the completed application form and documents to the Technical Services 'One-Stop' counter, 5th Floor, New Town Hall between 9am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 12.30pm Saturday.

Putney Parking shop 38- 40 Lower Richmond Road (between Ruvigny Gardens and Glendarvon Street)
Battersea Parking shop 145 Lavender Hill (between Sugden Road and Thirsk Road)
Tooting Bec Parking shop 297- 299 Balham High Road (between Louisville Road and Tooting Bec Road)
The parking shops are open 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. The staff there will be able to check your application and forward it to the Town Hall where the permit will be issued and sent to you by post.

Documents
Proof of business address and vehicle ownership/lease You must include proof of business address and vehicle ownership/lease with your application form. Photocopies are acceptable for postal applications however, if you are making your application in person, original documentation must be provided.
Proof of business address Businesses responsible for the payment of business rates must provide a copy of their current business rates bill. Businesses that are not responsible for business rates, such as self-employed sole traders may provide two of the following items:
- current lease agreement
- recent utility bill (not more than four months old)
- certificate of incorporation for limited companies if the registered office of the business is at the CPZ address
- a copy of a business bank statement
- copies of invoices received/sent to the business address
- Inland Revenue tax returns
- a certificate detailing the registration number and address for registered charities
- a letter from the business rate payer (in cases where the current lease is not available)
Proof that the vehicle is necessary for the efficient running of the business Applicants must produce a typed letter on headed stationery from the company secretary or a senior representative confirming that the vehicle is necessary for the efficient running of the business.
Proof of employment If the vehicle is registered to an employee, proof of employment in the form of copies of the last two salary/wage slips or a contract of employment is required.
Proof of vehicle ownership For each application, you must produce either the vehicle registration document or a copy of the hiring/leasing agreement. If you have purchased the vehicle in the last three months a garage bill of sale or insurance cover note will be sufficient.
Documents submitted as proof of vehicle ownership must show the name of the company or an employee. Where a vehicle is registered in the name of the business, it will be acceptable if the address shown on the documents is for the head office.
Types of Permit
Business All Zone Valid in all zones in the borough.
Business Individual Zone Valid only in individual zone where the business is located (e.g. W1 only).
Outer Area This permit is only valid in the following roads within the outer area of the Putney A3 zone: Woodbrough Road, Briar Walk, Woodthropre Road, Bramcote Road, Lutterell Avenue, Chartfield Avenue, St Margarets Crescent, Kingslawn Close, part of Westleigh Avenue and Howards Lane.
Liveried OR 'greener' vehicle In addition to the required documentation, applications for Liveried Business permits will only be considered where the numbering and the lettering of the livery is at least 6cm and in clear contrast to the vehicle's colour. The livery must be permanent and prominent enough to be read a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) and should cover a substantial part of the side panels or rear door(s). In order to ensure compliance with this requirement, the vehicle will require an inspection by a Council Officer. To arrange an inspection, please telephone the Parking Helpline on 020 8871 8871. The definition of a 'greener' fuelled vehicle is one powered by electricity, liquefied petroleum gas or compressed natural gas.
