 If you return to where you parked your car and find it is not there, it may have been removed if it was illegally parked, particularly if it was causing an obstruction. Under these circumstances your vehicle may have been removed by the Council's enforcement contractor, either to a nearby street, or to the pound.
Please note: It is a legal requirement that a Penalty Charge Notice must be issued to a vehicle before it is removed to the car pound or relocated to another parking space in the street.

Reclaiming your vehicle from the car pound In order to get your vehicle released from the car pound, you will need to supply one form of documentary proof to show that you are the owner, hirer or keeper of vehicle, as well as one form of documentary proof of your address. Payment You will also need to pay the Penalty Charge Notice issued when your vehicle was removed and the removal charge. You may need to pay storage charges if your vehicle was in the pound for more than a day. Storage charges are applied for each day your vehicle was in the pound, starting from midnight on the day following the vehicle's removal.
