Online Licensing Service We have launched a new online licensing service for businesses and citizens. Developed as part of the Planning and Regulatory Services Online National Project (PARSOL), led by Wandsworth Council, the Regalion Licensing System will bring substantial benefits to citizens, and businesses in the borough by reducing costs and streamlining services.
Businesses are now able to apply for licences issued under the Licensing Act 2003 using the internet. Members of the public can see lists of new applications made online that are open to public consultation and make representations on them. Lists of applications received in other ways are also being made available as soon as is practicable after receipt. Statutory consultees like the Police and Fire Brigade can use this service to streamline the consultation process.
Members of the public and other interested parties can now register to receive automatic email notifications of licence applications. To do this you must register as a user on the online service and use the Register of Interest facility. At the moment you should select to be notified of all applications, but we hope soon to allow choice by geographic criteria such as a postcode or electoral ward.
Public Registers At the moment, all applications received since the end of November 2005 for new Premises Licences and for Variations to existing Premises Licences involving a change to the permitted hours or activities are recorded in the Regalion system. The Public Register facility details the permitted hours and activities applied for all such applications. These may differ from the hours and activities permitted by the licence as granted. We are currently populating details of new Premises Licences as granted, and these can be viewed by clicking on the View Granted Licences button. We will be extending this functionality to other licence types and to legacy data over the next few months. Further features like online payment facilities will also soon be available as we integrate this system with other corporate systems.
