Wandsworth Corporate Equality Plan
After a period of consultation we published our first Corporate Equality Plan in March 2006. The Corporate Equality Plan sets out our policies on equality and outlines three-year action plans for race, gender and disability equality. The Corporate Equality Plan is updated each year and as such contains an overview of the work undertaken in the previous twelve months in terms of race, gender and disability equality and also reports progress against all the targets contained in the equality action plans.

In November 2006 the Corporate Equality Plan was updated. During this update the Corporate Equality Plan was revised to ensure that it addresses the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 and the Equality Act 2006. As such the updated plan, published below, not only contains our Race Equality Scheme, but it also contains the our Disability Equality Scheme and its Gender Equality Scheme. The updated Corporate Equality Plan outlines how residents were involved in the development of the Disability and Gender Equality Schemes. The Corporate Equality Plan also explains how we use information to monitor our services, in terms of equality, and the processes implemented to evaluate equality of access, in particular our Equality Impact Assessment process.

How can I get a copy of the plan?
All the sections of the Corporate Equality Plan can be downloaded from this site. They can also be read out using the "read speaker tool" that is available on this website and the Wandsworth Interpreting Service can help to translate the plan into a wide range of languages.
